Charles John Huffam Dickens (n. 7 februarie 1812 – d. 9 iunie 1870) a fost un romancier englez.
Este cunoscut drept cel mai mare nuvelist englez al secolului 19-lea. Un moralist, scriitor satiric si reformator social, Dickens a surprins conflicte complexe si caractere izbitoare, care evidentiau imaginea societatii engleze.
